This impact driver is part of Makita's Lithium-Ion series of cordless tools. These tools have improved tool performance and an extended battery life with Makita's Star Protection Computer Controls, which are designed into this impact driver to exchange data and monitor usage conditions to avoid overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating. This tool can also be powered by the 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery. This compact and lightweight design reduces operator fatigue, and the rubber soft grip on the handle increases user comfort.
