Oregon's Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) is currently considering requiring electronic monitoring systems on commercial Dungeness crab fisheries to track fishing gear and marine mammal activity to aid in conservation and reduction in entanglements. This system has successfully been used in both Califorina and Washington's Commercial Dungeness Crab fisheries to monitor crabbing fleets while keeping the equipment simple and affordable for individual outfits. More information on implementation will be available after August 14th, 2026.

Archipelago's FishVue LIME is a compact electronic monitoring system designed for smaller inshore fishing vessels. Instead of using cameras, it tracks the boat's location and fishing activity through GPS and gear sensors, then securely sends that information to regulators and the FishVue Fleet dashboard. It is designed for marine environments, uses very little power and connects through cellular service, with an optional satellite upgrade for areas farther offshore. A seasonal data subscription is required to transmit information.
