FishVue LIME Electronic Monitoring System

The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) revised rules to require electronic monitoring systems on vessels participating in Oregon’s ocean commercial Dungeness crab fishery. Electronic monitoring will provide information on crab gear location to aid in management and enforcement, including work to reduce the risk of whale entanglements. Archipelago's FishVue LIME electronic monitoring system has been successfully used in both California and Washington's commercial Dungeness crab fisheries to monitor crabbing fleets while keeping the equipment simple and affordable for individual outfits. ODFW’s electronic monitoring requirement will take effect on February 1, 2027.

FishVue LIME Information:

Archipelago's FishVue LIME is a compact electronic monitoring system designed for smaller inshore fishing vessels. Instead of using cameras, it tracks the boat's location and fishing activity through GPS and gear sensors, then securely sends that information to regulators and the FishVue Fleet dashboard. It is designed for marine environments, uses very little power and connects through cellular service, with an optional satellite upgrade for areas farther offshore. A seasonal data subscription is required to transmit information. FishVue LIME is one of two devices which meet ODFW's electronic monitoring requirements for the Oregon commercial Dungeness crab fishery.

Tracks vessel location, fishing effort and environmental conditions without recording video.
Reports position and sensor reading at 10s, compliant with ODFW and WDFW regulations. Devices can be remotely reconfigured to meet CDFW reporting requirements.

Supports Positive Gear ID and tracking, including automated soak-time detection.
Sends data through cellular networks, with an optional satellite upgrade for areas outside cellular coverage.

Can alert users to power loss, possible tampering or GPS interference.
Measures approximately 6" x 4.6" x 1.5", making it suitable for vessels with limited space.
Carries IP68 and IK08 ratings for protection against water, dust and impact.
Uses less than 0.04 amps, or approximately 0.5 watts, while operating.
Sensor inputs include 1 analog input (0V to 30V) plus 4 digital inputs.
