The Dutton-Lainson Brake Winch is for horizontal pulling and vertical lifting applications with a self-locking, fully automatic friction brake supplies constant, positive holding action any time the handle is released. It is made with a rigid, welded reel construction, high carbon steel gears that have been heat treated, 9-3/8" heavy duty steel handles with ergonomic molded grips, permanently lubricated bearings and a zinc plated TUFFPLATE finish. The drive shaft gear teeth and reel gear teeth are induction hardened for increased strength. This unit has an optional freewheel lever to put in freewheel mode and the gear ratios are load matched for easy cranking. It also comes with a heavy gauge embossed and reinforced steel base. Made in the USA.
